Linoleum Block Print

If you have always wanted to learn how to make your own block print, then this episode is for you. We will learn the basics so that you will be able to create your own prints. You may not have some of these supplies, so if you would like to follow along go shopping now! For this episode, you will need:

  • Linoleum Block
  • Linoleum Cutter
  • Brayer
  • Water Soluble Ink
  • Paper
  • Wood Spoon
  • Glass plate

I will be using the Speedball® brand for most of my supplies. You may be able to find these items at your local art supply store. But, as always, Daniels Smith is a great source too! The image I used for this show can be found in my flickr photos.

Music for this episode provided by the band Budz from their album "elbaste motel" and Bob Maus from his album "Borders." For more information about their music please visit PodSafe Audio.

Linoleum Block Print

I have to say, when I first started watching I thought, "This is gonna be hard!!" But watching you made it look do-able, is that a word?!! And then....at the end, you announced my name as a winner, I nearly fell out of bed!!!LOL Thanks again!! Keep up the great work Michelle. I cannot wait to see the Yummy Pink Stuff podcast next!!!

Hi Michelle, This was really a cool project. I don't think I'll do it because I have absolutely none of the supplies required. Also, I don't think I have the patience to complete this incredible project. My sister has done something similar and I'm going to email her about this project. I can't wait for the next project "Pink stuff". I love to cook and bake and enjoy new recipes and ideas. Keep up the good work. Also, received the atc's and they were all incredible. Thanks so much. great video cast once again. I can so relate to your series - i too have my hands in every art and craft out there - in fact I have all the supplies for every project you've had so far (a little unnerving perhaps...but, hey, i come from a long line of crafty women & men). - 0h except for the psyanky egg project - though I do have batik supplies, which would probably sub in a pinch. thanks so much for all of the time you put into this great show! blessings.

Thank you for another

Thank you for another interesting show. Your show is fantastic because you are a real person and not a plastic actor selling a product. I haven't made a lino block yet but i have made a few using the same technique on large erasers and they work quite well. Looking forward to the next show, Bianca

It was great

Hi I'm watching your podcast with my Mum. We are going to go and make potato stamps. I didn't like the little black spots that were on the picture. I would have wanted to wipe them off!
