  • crayons
  • markers
  • paper scraps
  • household items to use for texturing
  • glue
  • embellishments
  • images from magazines or collage sheets
  • fiber pieces
  • whatever else you can find
  • art journal, or sturdy piece of paper

Here are the "words" for this project: scratch, pastels, stamp, text, pencil, paint, photograph, surprise, sand, draw, magazine, chalk, wipe, 3-D, ink, write, charcoal, patter, and smudge.

Great Idea

I just wanted to post a comment to let you know that (after 1 1/2 years), I finally used this idea to have a collage party. I made the pieces out of grungeboard. One person would pull a piece and we would all use that word to add to our collage. It was sooo much fun!!! I highly recommend this idea for a group event! http://smullis7.blogspot.com/2009/02/collage-partyfinally.html

Collage Episode

This looks like so much fun!! I plan on doing this project with my daughter this summer. You are so creative! Thanks for your wonderful ideas!!!

I LOVED THIS EPISODE

I can't wait to give this a try! Perhaps for the Art Tags - that's a good idea. Thanks for the show - great ideas!

Another Great Project

I just returned from vacation and watched this episode. What an awesome idea! This would be a great idea for a craft party too. I think your collage turned out great too. You can tell that you've been crafting for awhile. Thanks for another great episode. Smullis

Different words to draw

I think that using techniques is a great idea, but I don't have all of the tools/supplies that you do. So when I try this (possibly for some ATCs), I will make up a list of supplies and techniques that I have on hand. For instance I don't have charcoal but I do have a lot of fabric scraps. I also tend to use a lot more images so I may have more than one "Magazine" and perhaps a "printed" (I do digital collage too so can easily print out a lot of cool images) This collage format is great because you can customize it to whatever suits you best! Keep up the great work, I can't wait to see the next episode as I used to be crazy about lino prints and have been thinking about getting back into it...if only I can find my tools. --Juliann

Collage Projec

Wow. You are so talented. I don't think there is anything wrong with the collage that you created. When I return from vacation, I will be attempting this project. I was thinking it would be a neat idea for an atc also. Thanks again for all the great ideas!! Syndee Davis Ü
