Loom Knitted Scarf a.k.a Knifty Knitter Knitting

Together we will go through the not so difficult steps of knitting a scarf on a knitting loom. In other words, "Let's make a scarf using the Knifty Knitter." To follow along with this project you will need:

  • Knitting loom (Knifty Knitter will work)
  • Hook for loom
  • 1-2 skeins of yarn
  • Scissors
  • Crochet hook

If you don't have a Knifty Knitter you can find them at Michaels or Joann's , or try your local craft supply store.

Yay! Thanks!!

Thanks so much for such an informative, 'real' tutorial! It was uncomplicated, even to a newer knitted like myself... I am hoping to get out today to get a loom to try this tonight! I know it's almost spring, but I hope to get a head-start on some homemade Christmas gifts this year. I just found your show, I love it!!

Knifty knitter

Thank you sooo much!! I just finished my first scarf!! I am now going to start on a blanket using the same stitch for my father in law!! I have MS, so using my hands makes crafting difficult, but with your help, I have succeeded! I wish you would do some more of these videos, trying to read the paper directions, is very confusing! Again....thanks!! ((((HUGS)))

Knifty Knitting

I started knitting a few months ago, and was frantically trying to finish scarves for Christmas presents. It takes me two-three weeks to knit a scarf, but thanks to your video, I can now loom knit a scarf in just a few hours! Since seeing the video I've made about 10 scarves. Thank you!

Knifty Knitting

I also made a ton of scarves on the loom when I first started so that everyone in my family has gotten one from me for Christmas. I have wanted to try to make some really cool scarves using the same technique by adding different fibers and ribbons while working the scarf, but I haven't gotten around to it. Yet. :)

Scarf

I finished my first scarf on the knifty knitter!! It turned out beautifully. I used a light green angel hair and a regular acrylic yarn in a similar color green. It is so pretty and soft. I hope my sister will love it because it's going to be her Christmas present. :)

Scarf

I don't think I ever saw a picture of the scarf before. It looks great! Who wouldn't want it for Christmas?

Yet Another Craft...

Well, after watching this podcast, I went out and bought a Knifty Knitter and am 4" into a scarf! Thanks for another great idea...can't wait to see the footage from the Fiber Festival.

knitting loom

thank you! thank you! thank you! i am now able to use my loom i was so confused looking at the directions but know i am so excited to finish a project!

Thanks for this show!

I've been wondering about these for quite a while now!

I've been curious about

I've been curious about those loom thingies. I've learned to knot in the past couple of months and anything that involves yarn/fiber/stitches has me fascinated. I appreciate this podcast--watching how you set up the loom, worked the stitches and bound off the scarf made the process so clear. I'm pretty sure that trying to follow written directions would have frustrated me into quitting.

Knitted Scarf

Oh my goodness. This will be so much fun. I was just looking at these at Michael's the other day. I should have used my coupon on one. Oh well, maybe there will be another coupon before this podcast is finished. I'm for sure doing this one!!!
